Avoiding fender rolling chafe

What is the issue?
Laying alongside in a chop, or near a very busy waterway where the wash of passing boats rolls in, will cause a vessel to continuously jostle back and forth upon the fenders.

Why address this?
It only takes a short amount of time for this type of rolling chafe to degrade nice glossy top sides.

How to address this?
Hang a canvas apron alongside to protect the topsides as shown above. The addition of fender covers again shown above can also make a significant impact.
