Arrows represent the direction of tidal streams with lighter or shorter arrows indicating weaker streams. Stronger streams are indicated by heavier or longer arrows, and as mentioned above, red arrows flagging rates of 3 knots and above. Numerals represent [mean neap, mean spring] rates in tenths of a knot. For example the numbers 12,23 would indicate a mean neap of 1.2 knots and a mean spring of 2.3 knots.

Tides are considerably affected by wind conditions and barometric pressure. At certain places around the islands wind against the tide conditions can become quite rough. This is worth considering when making passage plans.

This Evening and Tonight: A rather cloudy night to come, but remaining dry and feeling milder than of late. Clear skies developing in the south by morning, with mist and patchy fog returning across the Moors. Breezy in the southwest, more settled further inland. Minimum Temperature 12C.
Saturday: Some warm sunny spells to start the day, before a blanket of cloud spreads eastwards later. Becoming increasingly windy, especially in the southwest, with rain arriving here by the evening. Maximum Temperature 17C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Patchy rain clearing eastwards through Sunday morning, soon replaced by a band of heavy showers. Remaining unsettled next week, with further showers to come, at times heavy and thundery.
