Reducing clothes wrinkles

Be the first to comment

What is the issue?
Whilst cruising crew clothes are largely packed into tight lockers or in crew bags. The result is a very creased look when going ashore.

Why address this?
Cruising is a very informal and casual lifestyle. However, very occasionally, one has to go ashore and mix with people that have a less creased aspect to life and one must make an effort.

How to address this?
Mount a rod over the focsle berth and hang clothes before wearing them as presented in figure 1.

If you have already filled any existing hanging lockers with shelving placing a convenient rod over the focsle berth is a good option for this. This allows for that straightening hang behind closed doors and without cluttering the main cabin. Most ‘civilised’ clothes feel better after hanging them for some time before wearing them.
